Cold shutdown of Krško Nuclear Power Plant required to locate leakage

After the shutdown of the Krško Nuclear Power Plant and when a stable condition, i.e. hot standby, was achieved, expert teams entered the containment building and engaged in activities to identify the location of the leakage that was first detected yesterday. The inspection revealed that to find the exact leakage location while ensuring safe working conditions, cold shutdown of the power plant is required. Consequently, the operating crew will initiate procedures to cool down the power plant reactor.

At the beginning of the next week, when the plant systems are cooled down, activities will be carried out to detect the exact leakage location and to prepare a plan of activities required for the repair.
