Nuclear power plant shutdown to identify leakage location

In line with the previous announcement, the Krško Nuclear Power Plant was shut down this morning at 5.30 AM and it is now in safe shutdown, i.e., in the so-called hot standby. After the shutdown, expert teams engaged in activities to identify the location of the leakage within the containment building. The time required for repairs and to restart the power plant will be estimated after the detection of the source of the leakage.

As reported yesterday, the operating crew detected leakage in the primary system within the containment building and even though the leakage remains below the limits of the Technical Specifications, the power plant was shut down as a precaution to enable the detection of the source of the leakage and to repair it.
