Use of energy contributes to more than 80% of total greenhouse gas emissions in Slovenia

The main source of greenhouse gas emissions in Slovenia is electrical energy production and traffic. Emissions from households and the energy sector are falling in Slovenia and in the EU. Nuclear energy plays an important role since it is one of key low carbon energy sources which does not generate greenhouse gas emissions.
